Mibbinbah Spirit Healing will host a one-day “Understanding Your Anger” workshop in Warwick on Wednesday 25 June 2025. Running from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at 52 King Street, the program offers a safe, culturally grounded setting where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants can examine the roots of anger, share stories, and build healthy ways to respond when frustration rises.
As a proud supporter of Mibbinbah, our foundation recognises the value of programs that blend clinical insight with cultural connection. Facilitators weave established anger-management principles together with First Nations practices, helping attendees see anger not simply as a problem but as an emotion that can be understood, channelled, and transformed. Community members leave with practical tools they can apply at home, on Country, and in everyday relationships.
Why focus on anger?
Anger often surfaces when people feel unheard, disrespected, or boxed in by life’s pressures. Left unchecked, it can strain families, damage friendships, and contribute to cycles of grief or violence. Learning to read the warning signs – tight shoulders, racing thoughts, a rising voice – lets individuals choose a calmer response before words or actions cause harm.
What the day covers
- Naming the feeling
Participants identify personal and cultural triggers, then map how anger moves through the body. - Tracing the source
Facilitators guide conversations about hurt, loss, and historical factors that can feed resentment. The group honours these stories through yarning circles and reflection. - Healthy release techniques
Breathing exercises, grounding activities, and movement provide immediate ways to defuse tension. - Cultural strength
Ceremony and storytelling remind attendees of the wisdom embedded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions, reinforcing identity and resilience. - Building a support network
The workshop concludes with goal setting and a commitment to continue talking, listening, and practising new skills within the community.
What to expect on the day
